Happy New Year to everyone. Wow! 2008 passed quickly. I just want to say how proud I am of our class, and tell everyone what a great job you're doing. Considering we only have one class a week we're doing an amazing job and progressing quickly, while learning new forms and practicing techniques. I love seeing you're dedication while learning, and watching the upper belts teaching what we've learned to the lower belts.

EFMA

The EFMA patch is finely here!!! It's $4.00 per patch and they'll be there at Saturdays class.

Patch update

The patch, (that won the contest) will be made by "EmbroidMe" they will be $4 a patch. The patches will come in in 2 to 4 weeks. Next week there will be a sign up sheet at class to pre-order them.

Demo Team

We are creating a demo team for out ministry, it's purpose will be to help promote our ministry. Please leave a comment if your interested. Next week after class, we will hold a meeting for everyone who is interested.

Tournament

We are hosting a tournament on the May 3 from 9am to12pm. It's $15 to participate; which includes the first activity and $5 for each additional activity. If you choose to break boards; your first board is included; each additional board is $1. As more information is made available I will post it.

Voting on the patch

On Sat 9-22 we are voting on the patch for our class symbol. So if you want a say please be there. Class starts at 9am and ends at 10:15 am

We will be having the 1st Martial Arts Ministry picnic after class on Aug 11. There will be a sign up going around at class to bring food. Bring friends and family for the FUN!!!

Hi Everyone

Hi everyone! I hope I am writing this blog and posting it in the right place. If so I want to tell you all that I am very proud of each and everyone of the students in our ministry. If I am by chance posting this blog in a place other than the martial arts blog page, this is my message to all of you. The Lord Jesus Christ came to this world to save us from our sins. He died on the cross for you and rose again. The only way to be with him in Heaven is to ask him into your heart and ask for his forgiveness. The way the truth and the light.

I will also be posting the testing time and date on this sight once I get it from Julie.

1st annual Invitational Tournament

It was my pleasure to take part in the Invitational tournament / Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation fund-raising "Board Break-a-thon" event co-hosted by Young Hong Karate Institute and our own EFCCL Martial Arts Ministry (this last Saturday. )
As an event, we helped to raise $2,273.oo to help support research for a cure for childhood Diabetes!
Participants then took part in as many as 3 competitive events: Forms (Kata's), Board-breaking techniques, and Point-Sparring.
Awards were given to each participant based on their proficiency and skills. I, myself took a Silver medal for low form 3. It was a proud moment for me, and for the rest of the competitors!
